Early Projections For The 2015 NFL Draft

by Franklin Canton

The 2014 NFL draft might still be on the minds of most fans, but there are some already looking at what 2015 has offered. While there are plenty of top prospects at every position, here is an early look at top prospects who could make an impact in fantasy football.

Marcus Mariota

It was a surprise to some when Mariota decided to return for another season at Oregon this past winter. He probably could have been a first-round draft pick, but he could become a top overall pick in 2015. He has the height, athleticism and decision making skills to be a star in the NFL. As long as he is able to stay healthy and continue to progress, he should be pretty good in fantasy football in the right situation as a rookie.

Jameis Winston

Even casual football fans have probably heard of Winston at some point. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner is only going to be a redshirt sophomore in the fall, so there is a chance he does not come out. However, if he does get projected as a top 10 pick, it will be hard to go back to school.

Amari Cooper

There are not as many wide receiver standouts in college football after the 2014 draft, but Cooper has a chance to be a good one. The pass catcher from Alabama had outstanding numbers for the Crimson Tide, bring in 104 passes for a total of 15 touchdowns. His outstanding speed could really help him standout in the pro ranks.

Melvin Gordon

Todd Gurley is nice for Georgia, but Gordon is probably the hottest running back prospect in 2015. He really took off for Wisconsin by putting up 1609 yards and 12 touchdowns. This is pretty impressive for a guy who was forced to split time with James White. Gordon has a chance to be a first round running back, which is a bit rare these days.
